Digger Hennessy has been making wine since 1988, much of it in Marlborough. After stints making wine in Australia and the US, he moved to Matua Valley Wines as winemaker, where he later appointed Corey. Digger moved to Mount Riley, where he spent 10 years as Chief Winemaker before developing his own vineyard in Marlborough and going on to produce Harwood Hall. Digger participates in regular tastings for NZ Wine and acts as a consultant to the wine industry. He has a B Appl. Science degree in Oenology from Roseworthy Agricultural College in South Australia. When he’s not working, Digger loves playing golf or cricket, and spending time with his wife, Deb (always) and kids (if they’re behaving!).
